We know that choosing a school for your child is a decision that’s important…

both for today and in the future. We also know that with the excitement of starting school might come a sense of uncertainty. With this in mind, we’re honored that you have begun to explore Pre-K and Kindergarten at St. Matthew School! Each day, your child will be lovingly greeted by our teachers and their friends and welcomed into a joyful community of learners.

Our Classrooms

Pre-K classrooms are located steps away from our main school building (affectionately known as the “big school” to our little ones) and are learning spaces designed with 3- and 4-year olds in mind.

The Kindergarten classroom is located in the newest area of our “big school,” constructed within the last fifteen years or so. It is a bright, spacious learning space.

Our programs are child-centered, play-based environments

designed to facilitate learning in the most engaging way, ensuring your child is exceptionally prepared for Kindergarten and First Grade. Pre-K families have the option to join us for full or half days and Kindergarten students are provided with a full day program. Your child will enthusiastically participate in our complete academic program including Spanish, Art, Music, and Physical Education. We’re confident your child will love school!

For now, it's important to know that the cost of our early childhood programs is considerably less, and actually about half that of the average day care center and preschool in Connecticut. Our school works hard to make this important investment possible for families.
